Cricket star Kane Williamson scored a brilliant debut season as he beat the new South African side by six wickets to advance to the three-match series final, breaking the record set by South African Matthew Breetzke on his debut in Cape Town.

Bretzke scored 150, the highest score by a batsman in his One-Day International debut, to help South Africa to 304 for 6, but Williamson won the match at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore with an unbeaten knock of 133.

The three-match series is a warm-up match before the eight-nation Champions Trophy in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates on February 19.

Pakistan, the third team in the three-match series, will take on South Africa in Karachi on Wednesday to decide who will face New Zealand in the final on Friday.

Williamson hit his first ODI century in nearly five years on Monday and received strong support from opener Devon Conway, who missed the century by just three runs.

South Africa was forced to field four players for their debuts as key players were either playing in the domestic T20 league or recovering from injuries.

New Zealand fielded Conway in place of Rachin Ravindra, who was injured during the team's 78-run win over Pakistan in Lahore on Saturday.
