jeetbuzz365 Afghanistan scored a maximum score of 699 runs in the first Test against Zimbabwe on the final day at Queen's Sports Club on Monday.


Rahmat Shah was dismissed for 234 late on the fourth day on Sunday while captain Hashmatullah Shahidi batted for the third consecutive day with a score of 246 runs, a new Test scoring record by an Afghan batsman.


Hashmatullah held the record with an unbeaten 200 against Zimbabwe in Abu Dhabi in 2021, but Rahmat surpassed it in Bulawayo and was later beaten by Hashmat. Shmatulla broke in the same innings.


Afghanistan resumed at 515-3 on the final day with Afsar Zazai scoring his maiden Test hundred, but ended up losing by 113 runs.


The wicket led to a sharp drop in batting, with 60 runs lost in the last seven wickets, with part-time spinner Brian Bennett taking 5-95.


Zimbabwe started the second innings at 65 without conceding a single run but then lost four quick wickets due to rain delays, but the scoreline was sealed when the two captains shook hands and agreed to end the game shortly before the scheduled end. . rebounded to 142-4.
