T20 Championship 2025: jwin7 Australia beat England in four straight games to retain Women's Ashes title

jwin7 Australia made it four straight wins in the multi-format series, winning by 57 runs in the first of three T20 matches between the two teams.

They had previously won all three One-Day Internationals and therefore were already undisputedly 8-0 ahead. The series score was just eight points.

This means Australia only needs to win or draw one of the remaining two T20 matches or the final game of the series to win the series outright.

Australia has hosted the Ashes since 2015, when they won the multi-format series on English soil.

In the first T20 match at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Australia won by 198-7, thanks largely to Beth Mooney's 75 runs off 51 balls.

England were defeated twice in the first seven balls of the opening match and were bowled out for 141 in the 16th over.
