In a major development, vice-captain Shubman Gill on Tuesday confirmed that leg-spinner Varun Chakaravarthy has been included in India's squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against England. Ahead of the series opener, Team India was training at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur and Varun was spotted in the nets.

Varun had a great time in the nets after performing well in the T20I series against England, picking up 14 wickets in five matches. His inclusion in the squad has sparked speculation, especially with the UEFA Champions League kicking off on February 19.

Sources revealed that the selectors are keeping a close eye on Varun’s progress, Kuldeep Yadav’s return from injury and Bumrah’s upcoming scan.

As India will be participating in all the Champions Trophy matches in Dubai, Varun’s skills could be crucial, making him a strong contender for selection. The Indian team has till February 12 to make any changes in the squad.
